BREAKOUT

PROLOGUE

"HOW!!! WHEN!!!"

"30 Minutes ago...we thought he may have just been hiding, but looking back over the footage, we saw how he got out..."

Unable to move.

Fear for one person, and one person alone gripped his body.

"What are you doing to find him...!!!!!!!!!"

"ALL that we can! There are patrols, there are warrants, there are police bulletins! Everything that we can possibly do, we are doing it!"

He slammed his office phone down so hard that it broke in two...

Without informing anyone of his departure, he raced out to his car...

Breaking all speed limits.

Running red lights.

Near Hits and misses.

Slamming to a halt outside his house, he pulled the handbrake, left the car running and dashed inside...

Bursting inside, his heart immediately stilled...

Khushi.

She sat safely with Anjali...

Leaning back against the door, he caught his breath...

He felt sick with worry...

"Chote?" nani called out...

Arnav lifted his head, wiped his sweaty forhead with his handkerchief, and walked in...

"Chote!"

"Arnavji!"

Anjali stood up smiling anxiously as Arnav ran to Khushi and embraced her firmly...

"Chote? Is everything okay?"

Pulling back, he lifted his hands up to Khushi's angelic face..."Khushi, I need to talk to Di...it's ...it's important...will you give me a minute...?"

Smiling, Khushi's voice was filled with lighthearted cheer, "Why are you asking? Ofcourse...but hurry back, because I should be receiving a very important phone call soon!"

Nodding, Arnav took Anjali's hand and led her outside...

The instant they were alone, Arnav brokedown...

"Shhhh....I know....I know Chote......."

"What?! How do YOU know!?" Arnav asked half angry that she had to be subjected to knowing, half relieved that he didn't have to break it to her...

"I received the call as well. I expected you to be home any second..."

Arnav hit his fist against the wall..."What do I do!?! What if they don't find him...What if they CAN'T find him..."

Anjali hated seeing her brother in such a helpless state..."Chote...Khushiji is SAFE...She is here with you! You need to pray that authorities are able to find him...I know you are very protective of Khushiji..."

Arnav grabbed her by her shoulders gently..."He tried to take her Di...He lied...YOU KNOW what he did! I wanted to kill him! For you AND for Khushi...nothing is more important than your safety..."

"AMMA!!!"

A toddlers scream rang throughout the house...

"Chote, I have to go and get him...he's been playing and sneaking around all morning...please...please try not to get even more protective of Khushi than you already are...she'll get stifled..." Anjali smiled as she teased Arnav...

"MORE protective...I don't think there is anyway i could get any more protective of her..." he smirked...

That very second, Khushi ran in almost shaking with excitement...

"DI! ARNAVJI!!!! I AM SO GLAD YOU'RE BOTH HERE! YOU WILL BE THE FIRST TO KNOW! ..."

She walked over to them and put one hand on Arnav's face, and the other on Anjali's...

Looking into Arnav's eyes she spoke with zeal...."We're going to be parents! I'M PREGNANT ARNAVJI!"
